Apulia Beaches Tremiti Islands
A hypothetical north-south road trip along the Apulian coastline cannot but pass by the beaches of Gargano and the beautiful Tremiti Islands in the north of the region.
The coast then descends towards Bari where Polignano a Mare is worth a stop. We then move on to the province of Brindisi characterised by an alternation of white sandy beaches and cliffs.
Then we come to Salento, to the province of Lecce with its beaches scattered along the Adriatic and Ionic coasts.
Among the beaches not to be missed in Apulia are those on the Ionic side of Salento and those on the Gargano.
Around the region you will find cliffs covered with Mediterranean vegetation that almost reach the sea, pebble coves, golden beaches and white beaches preceded by fragrant pine forests and natural pools.
White beaches in Apulia
In Apulia there are white beaches that make you think of the Caribbean. The whitest beaches with the finest sand can be found in Salento and in particular in the stretch of coast around Punta Prosciutto.
At Torre Chianca, in theProtected Marine Area of Porto Cesareo , there is the most beautiful and transparent water.
In Marina di Pescoluse there is a private beach called Maldive del Salento, which has come to give its name to all the beaches in the area, famous, a bit like the Maldives, for their shallow waters and crystal-clear water as far as the eye can see. In other words, you are in the middle of Salento but it feels like being in the Maldives.

Videos of the most beautiful beaches in Apulia Weather Apulia
In summer, Puglia has a very hot climate that in some cases lasts until early October, including September. June and September, thanks to the favourable weather, and the prices and crowds typical of the low season, are the perfect time to go to the seaside in Puglia.
The Salento can be very windy and affected by Tramontana, unlike the Adriatic stretch from the Gargano to Brindisi.
Plan for windy sea days and be prepared to bring along the most suitable equipment with umbrellas that shelter from the wind and parasols. In Apulia, and especially in the far south of the region, rainfall is scarce.
